One thing I’ve learned during this food truck journey is how important it is to have support from people already in the same industry as you. ❤️

I want to publicly thank two amazing people who have never turned a deaf ear to my husband and I while building MSK House of Spice.

✨ Stacy Byrd, co-owner of Nawlins Po Boys
✨ Johnny, owner of Oh My Turkey Leg

Anytime I had questions, Stacy answered them with no hesitation and NEVER asked for payment. The only thing she ever wanted in return was one of my weird flavored smoothies 😂🥤… and honestly, it was my pleasure because I’d already been making them for years anyway.

And Johnny… when I asked if I could come shadow him on his truck just to learn hands-on before starting our own journey, he immediately said yes. Life got busy and I never really found the downtime to fully be the mentee I wanted to be, but the fact still remains — there was NEVER a time either one of them told me no, ignored me, or acted funny toward us.

That kind of kindness and support means more than people realize. 💯

In business, especially food business, people can become territorial, guarded, and competitive… so to encounter genuine people willing to help and encourage others is a blessing.

I pray God blesses both of you 100-fold for the kindness, wisdom, and grace you showed us. 🙏🏽❤️

Knowing there’s community support out here truly means the world to us.
